During the autumn term, Year 3 have worked extremely hard and taken part in many exciting activities. Have a look at our photographs and see us -

*  Making life size skeletons for our Moving and Growing science topic.
*  Measuring temperature for our Keeping Warm topic.
*  Visiting the cinema to support our writing.
*  Visiting Litherland High School to take part in multi-skills.
*  Having fun in class pretending to be news reporters for our What's in the News geography topic.

More recently, we had a great time practising our circus skills! It was a chance for us all to have time out of class and do some juggling, throwing, riding and balancing. Take a look at the photos.

Symmetry Lessons

In early October Year 3 were learning all about shape and lines of symmetry.

The children had lots of fun cutting out different shapes to test how many symmetrical shapes they could find.

Myself

Year 3 were working on the topic 'Myself'.
These are the displays in our classrooms.

Year 3 History Topic

Our history topic this year was 'The Ancient Egyptians'.

Through our studies we were transported to a great civilization which grew up on the banks of the river Nile over 5000 years ago.

All of this work was enhanced and brought to life when Miss Hadley, an archaeologist from Liverpool University, visited our school.

She brought with her a selection of interesting artefacts used by the Ancient Egyptians in their everyday life. We were able to handle these artefacts, which included kohl eye make-up, a board game called Senet, some jewellery, cooking pots and a scarab beetle said to warn off evil spirits.

We all agreed that this was the most enjoyable event of the year.
