We are having "step up time" on Monday afternoon next week when
the children and staff will spend some time getting to know their new
class. Full class lists will be on display during parent/teacher interview
time on Wednesday.
You will know from the news this week that the Government is now scrapping
its Building Schools for the Future programme. I know that this seems
rather selfish as it is a massive blow to our Secondary colleagues but
thank God this does not include our own building developments as they are
part of the Primary Capital Programme and that money has already been
received by the Archdiocese. The current situation with our own building
works is that there are still some finishing touches to be done to the new
entrance, lobby and classroom and then I am meeting with the architect
next week with the expectation that the final phase will start in
December/January. If there is any change to this I will let you know as
soon as I hear but I think it's fair to say that we are definitely in a
time of economic uncertainty.
Finally on a more cheery note it was great to see so many of you at both
the Infant and Junior Sports days. Thank you so much to the staff who
organised the days, yourselves for attending an dthe children who once
again displayed their endless energy !
Yours
sincerely
B
