Saturday August 20th 2005 Liverpool v. Sunderland

I was at Anfield on Saturday and really enjoyed the excitement. Both sides missed chances but Xabi Alonso scored a wonderful goal straight from a free-kick and that won the three points for Liverpool.

The turning point of the game came when the Sunderland winger was sent off half way through the second half. After that Liverpool were in control of the game.

The Kop were singing all the time and it was very enjoyable to be there and hear them.
