2008 marked the 80th birthday of our school as well at the 800th of our city. We decided this would be an ideal opportunity to look back our past as well as forward to our future. Thanks to our wonderful parent's group who organized a street party for our children and our guests, a fabulous time was had by all. We took a stroll down Memory Lane, with all year groups performing songs and sketches from different decades. Foundation led us through the sixties with hippy chicks, mop top rockers and a memorable space walk. Year One and Two were Ovaltinies and Fifties Jivers. Year Three and Four opened Tutankhamun's tomb in the twenties. Year Five thrilled us with an Eighties medley which included 'The Anfield Rap' (Mr. Hardiman is still trying to 'ca-a-a-lm down'). Year Six sung 'We'll Meet Again' and brought a tear to every eye. Parts of the day were very poignant, particularly for our special visitors, some of whom were pupils many years ago. It was a wonderful day when new memories were made of our very special school. |
