Anti-Bullying Week

Anti-bullying Week in November was a great opportunity to link into our SEAL topic – SAY NO TO BULLYING - and raise awareness within our school to minimise bullying by sharing practical advice and strategies for the whole school to learn.

All staff and pupils at St Cuthbert’s wore badges to show our support for anti-bullying. Each day pupils looked at their badges to remind them to ‘stop and think’ about how they were behaving and the choice of words they were using when speaking to each other.

Each class completed activities specifically designed to engage with the Anti-Bullying Week theme. The aim was to explain to pupils that ‘Words can hurt but words can also help’.

By using special information packs we helped to develop pupil's key social skills which specifically helped with the anti-bullying message.

SEAL CERTIFICATES (below):- A pupil was selected from each Year group who was regularly caught ‘making sure no-one was left out ‘ as part of our SEAL topic SAY NO TO BULLYING!
