Communication Friendly Spaces
focuses on the role of the learning environment in supporting the
development of speaking and listening skills. CFS is an initiative founded
by Elizabeth Jarman that considers the significant role that the physical
environment can play in supporting children’s speaking and listening
skills; in supporting inquisitive, verbal experimentation.
At St. Cuthbert's we are making changes to the unit in order to promote the children's speaking and listening skills by having a balance of neutral calm areas and interactive spaces. The children have enjoyed accessing the quiet area to share a book with their friends and have a chat |
