After School Club runs in the
Art Room in the Field of Dreams and can take 16 children per session. At
After School Club we continue the SEAL initiative from school and the
children put their names on the Feelings Wall and talk about their day at
school. There are lots of different activities to choose from, such as Jenga,
table football, basketball, board games, arts and crafts and jigsaws. There
is also a Reading Corner with a library and quiet area. Children have a
snack and drink and at this time we all sit around the table together and
enjoy our food. Children are encouraged to make suggestions for a healthy
snack and help out at making cakes and biscuits.
The Club makes use of our school facilities and go out to the Astroturf, the Woodland Area and the school hall. On Wednesdays we have an excellent sports coach Sean, who comes and works with the children. We also go on trips out. Some of the places we have been to recently are the Maritime Museum and Albert Dock, Big Art at the Walker Art Gallery and Bowling and Cinema trips. It is a fun, relaxing atmosphere and the children enjoy coming along: "I like drawing, painting and playing table football" - Jack "I like playing with children from different classes" - Ellie "It's fun and I look forward to coming" - Reece "We play fun games" - Alex |
