Wartime Evacuation to Wales Revisited |

These photos are of the children before they left for the visit to Penmaenmawr in Wales. The visit was part of our centenary celebrations as children from St Sebastian's were evacuated to Penmaenmawr during the war. The children, staff and two original evacuees visited the school to which the children were evacuated and sang war songs, performed a play about evacuation and had Welsh lessons.
The
full trip will be in the Liverpool Echo supplement next week with all the
background information. Here we see the children dressed up as evacuees and teachers taking the register and getting ready to leave. They all had a great day and learnt a lot about evacuation and made great links with the school in Wales |
